God’s Talking, Am I Listening?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Amos 3:7

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

O-bservation:

The prophet Amos prefaces this word by using the adjective Sovereign to describe the Lord. That word means God stands alone with no limitations and no authority over Him. And yet this Sovereign and all-knowing God doesn’t do anything of huge merit without first revealing it to one of His Prophets or faithful Servants.

A-pplication:

Sometimes we are quick to say, after the fact, “I didn’t know about that. In fact no one saw that coming!” But that’s just not true. Passages in God’s Word like, “Call unto me and I will answer thee” (Jer. 33:3), “You will seek me and you will find me when you search for me with all of your heart” (Jer. 29:13), and “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you” (Matt. 7:7) are all passages that teach us that we don’t have to be a Prophet for God to reveal to us what’s coming down the pike! Please Look Up Today. God’s got everything under control. It’s not as bad as the “Enemy of Your Soul” would like for you to think! Here’s my point … “God’s Talking, Am I Listening?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Today I feel a need to repent. I repent for all the times I looked at the newspaper instead of Your Word for “The News.” I repent for all the times that I asked a friend instead of asking my “CREATOR” what I should do. WYH*, I’ll change that. Amen
