S-cripture:

Job 24:1

Why does the Almighty not set times for judgment? Why must those who know him look in vain for such days?

O-bservation:

Once again, Job was in such a broken place of pain and sorrow that he asked why God was not judging the truly criminal people in society. He couldn’t figure out why he was being judged, and others who were obviously violating society’s code weren’t held accountable. What Job would eventually learn is that “God Is Always Fair.”

A-pplication:

Job is the one man in history that when you think of suffering, Job is the first to come to mind. Some theologians would say that Job’s suffering lasted less than a year and more than a couple of months. Probably as bad as Job’s suffering was, it wasn’t long enough and could never have been long enough to judge God for being unfair. Usually, when a person suffers, we don’t know they are. They look fine from a distance, so why don’t they have to suffer as we suffer? Well, the truth is, we don’t know another person’s suffering like we know our own. The best thing to do when going through trials is to cry to God for help. The worst thing we can do is judge God for being unfair because “God Is Always Fair.”

Dear Jesus,

I know you are always fair, Lord. Thank you! Today I pray for those who are suffering silently. Please be with them and ease their pain and suffering. Amen
