God Always Has The Answer!
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Numbers 17:10
The Lord said to Moses, “Put back Aaron’s staff in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.”
O-bservation:
This story follows on the heels of the rebellion of three key leaders of Israeli tribes. Their names were Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. They had complained that Moses got all the anointing of the Lord and criticized the man of God. Moses and Aaron had fallen on their face before the Lord and cried on behalf of the three rebellious leaders. God opened the earth anyway and swallowed these three men up. The fear of the Lord came upon the Israelites. The Lord told Moses to take a staff and write the name of the leader of each tribe on the staff. God said to put the twelve staffs in the tent of meeting next to the law of the covenant, and whichever of the twelve tribe’s staff budded, this would be a sign of God that the Lord had anointed that man to lead. Aaron’s rod budded in the night and turned out blossoms and then actual almond fruit. The people then feared the Lord.
A-pplication:
This story proves several things, but the largest truth I take from this story is simply “God Always Has The Answer!” When the people saw the next day that Aaron’s staff was the only rod that had budded, great fear came upon the people, and they asked, “Are we all going to die?” Certainly, God was not going to kill the entire nation, but at the same time, He had gotten their attention. Don’t ever give up on the Lord when you’re facing a crisis, because I can tell you “God Always Has The Answer!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I am facing some great challenges going forward this AM. The thing that gives me such hope is that I’ve always known this to be true, “God Ways Has The Answer!” I’ll never back down from following You. Amen
