Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

O-bservation:

In this, St. Peter’s first letter written from Babylon to various churches throughout Asia Minor who were suffering religious persecution, he states, “If you’re going through hardship of any kind (CARES), give them to Jesus immediately because He cares for you!”

A-pplication:

Remember, this was written by the man who would eventually be crucified upside down for Jesus. In other words, Peter knew tribulation in his life. You don’t slide carelessly through life unscathed in any way and then out of nowhere be crucified upside down. NO! Peter had suffered way before he made this statement, so he knew the comfort and the care of his Lord and Master Jesus. I say this because we serve One who has gone before us. Jesus knows any and all pain, rejection, or suffering we have or will ever go through. Our challenge is not just to let go of our cares, but instead to cast them, to throw them, at the feet of Jesus. To me, this passage is telling me as it relates to my hardships, “Get Rid Of Them Today!”

Dear Jesus,

I’m so grateful to be able to cast all of my cares upon You! I’m glad I can “Get Rid Of Them Today!” Amen
