Everyone Needs Acceptance

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Romans 15:7

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

St. Paul writes to the people of Rome that a true “Jesus Follower” will always show love and acceptance to those who are weaker. That theme carries from the first verse right through to the end of the entire chapter. Here he says, “If you do what I’m saying it will bring praise to God.”

Whether you believe it or not, “Everyone Needs Acceptance.” And here’s another thought, people really only want acceptance from those they feel are stronger in some way than they are. That’s where you and I come in. We “Followers of Jesus” are really in a position of strength and not weakness. I rarely think to myself, boy I wish I was her. Or, I wish I was Him. No! Seriously, I believe that God made me to live out my days in my own skin, full of Him. If that’s true, other fellas want to be like me. Consequently, I have the opportunity to love them and accept them for who they are in hopes they can become all God made them to be. Why would I do that? Why should you do that? Because, “Everyone Needs Acceptance.”

Dear Jesus,

Fill me with Your strength that I may accept those around me today who feel weak. Amen
