Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Joel 2:12
“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
O-bservation:
The Prophet Joel spoke in context to the people of Israel. But the Word he spoke is relevant to RIGHT NOW, in any generation, to any people. It’s God’s desire that every person on this planet would turn to Him with all of his or her heart. By that He means with FASTING or sacrificing your appetite to God, WEEPING, these are tears of Godly sorrow, and through MOURNING, which means to be deeply repentant for ones rebellion. And of course, it’s God’s desire that those who are far off would return NOW!
A-pplication:
In “Peace Time” or “Troubled Times,” living as close to Jesus as possible is the safest place to be. Often, without even knowing it folks can find themselves so far removed from the Lord that they can’t figure out why. They just seem to live from Storm to Storm. This passage is about getting back to “BASE CAMP.” Base Camp for humans has always been Jesus and His people. Perhaps you have felt estranged from the Lord in some way recently. Here’s the remedy … Run to Jesus today with ALL your heart. Do it by Fasting, Weeping, and Mourning with deep sorrow over the separation from Jesus you have experienced. I promise you, Jesus will accept YOU with open arms. “EVEN NOW!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I lay bare my soul to You. I want Your cleansing. I don’t want anything to distance me from You! Amen

These devotions reading are now taking place so much in my mind that I dreamed of my pastor being the judge that was condemning me. I did not try to correct myself but was looking for an exit door to my state. I now understand that the dream I had was to be taken as a warning to return to God with modesty and full trust in my salvation.
