Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 130:1
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord.
O-bservation:
This statement by the Psalmist is from the deepest part of his pain. He said, “Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord.” His sorrow and inability to change his circumstance caused him to utter a cry from a place that many have arrived at. That deep, deep innermost place in one’s soul.
A-pplication:
If you’re like me, I’m sure if you have more than a child’s experience in years, you have probably been at this place before. It’s that place you arrive at where no more of your own abilities can possibly suffice. It’s a place where you’re convinced that you are the only one who has ever visited that place before. It’s a place where once you arrive, you’re alone. But the truth is, there is more in you than you think. A lot of people have been there before, and you’re not alone! Jesus is always with you. You’re reading a 3,000 year old cry. I know it sounds like your cry, but indeed someone else cried it before. Here’s what I want you to know. God hears you right now, so “Don’t Waste Your Cry For Nothing.” He’s listening. Tell Him everything!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I can’t count the times I’ve cried to You from that deep, deep place. I can certainly say I never cried for nothing! You were always at the other end of my cry, and You heard me! Amen
