Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
O-bservation:
Isaiah the Prophet sounds an urgent alarm to people who profess to know God or say they need God. He says look for and seek after the Lord when He is not hiding and call on Him when he’s close. This suggests that there is a time when, perhaps, that is not the case.
A-pplication:
Like Isaiah, the Apostle Paul said … “I tell you NOW is the time of God’s favor. NOW is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2b). In other words, Paul and Isaiah suggest that there are seasons to call upon the Lord and reach out to the Lord that are more favorable than others. And before we get into a big discussion or disagreement as to whether or not I’m right or wrong, I’m suggesting that if there is a better season to reach out to God it is always NOW. The “NOW Season” with God is always the appropriate season to reach to God, to seek God, to cry to God, to ask God! “Do It NOW!” You need forgiveness? Ask God NOW! You need healing? Ask Jesus NOW! You need victory? Seek Him NOW! Right NOW is the appropriate time to petition Heaven. “Do It NOW!!!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I am not going to wait till lunch, or dinner, or Sunday to Seek You. I’m seeking You right NOW! I decided not to wait, but to … “Do It NOW” Amen
