S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
James 2:17
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
O-bservation:
All throughout this chapter, James, the brother of Jesus, makes his case that The Christian Life is a call to action. All faith produces action, and if there is no act of service not only to Jesus but also unto our fellow man then one’s faith is … “Dead Faith.”
A-pplication:
All of Christianity is a call to service. Ten of the original twelve Apostles served their way to a martyr’s grave. To read through Christian history and realize the “Exploits of Faith” accomplished for Jesus by our ancestors is utterly astounding. In our own family, my wife’s auntie lived in a mud hut, without running water, in a village in Burkina Faso for 35 years. Why? She did it to teach children and their parents about Jesus. She also did it to cure them of their ills. She helped teach them how to read and write. She also taught them the arts and sciences. She never married, yet during her life she raised over 200 orphaned children by herself. How did that happen? Her Faith resulted in action. She didn’t have “Dead Faith,” she had a faith that had to act. When I move in action I want to please Jesus, but I also want to WIN the world to my Lord. One thing I don’t want is … “DEAD FAITH!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
If there is 1 ounce of “Dead Faith” in me this AM, I am now laying it on Your altar. I want nothing to do with “Dead Faith.” Amen

My faith is alive when I stand on God’s promises and see each of my prayers answered because I have the mind of Christ.
I did not like to think of my faith as being unproductive. Retired from work, I became concerned with my health, physical, mental and spiritual. What I do for others may not count because of what Jesus did for me . I think of psalm 91 and continue to stay under the shadow of the Almighty so that when I will breathe my last breath, my savior will be there to receive me onto Him. Needless to say that I read each daily devotion to find out what the Spirit says to me. I have A trend of ideas that may meet with these moments of prayer.
