Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Numbers 33:55
But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live.
O-bservation:
One of the final instructions God gave to Moses to pass on to the Israelites, just before they crossed the Jordan River, was this: “When you enter Jericho, drive everyone who lives there out. Don’t let anyone remain. The ones you let remain will be a pain in your neck forever.”
A-pplication:
This is a principle that almost everyone finds difficult to keep, even to this day. I believe I’m speaking to someone this AM who is about to take over leadership of some kind of endeavor and you’re battling the issue of who to keep and who to let go. Only for you, and only for today … Let them all go! The ones you let stay, whether it’s four or forty, will literally end up driving you out in the end. The Bible says in Joshua 6:21 that Joshua obeyed the Lord completely and drove every living thing out of Jericho. He only saved Rahab and her family. Then the Israelites burned the whole city. Certainly that is not what God is requiring today. But you get the gist of this thought. In order for you to really win in this new endeavor, you must “CLEAN HOUSE” and build your own team. God will help you today.
P-rayer:
What I know I have to do today is going to be difficult. I know You will help me. I’m trusting You to help me do the “Hard Thing.” Amen
