Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 13:36-37
Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed. But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.
O-bservation:
When David had served his purpose as king of Israel he died and his body decayed, as is always the case with we mortals. But when Jesus, the offspring of King David, was crucified, God raised Him from the dead before His body decayed in the grave. You would have to call that … “The BIG Difference.”
A-pplication:
Each of us comes from some kind of heritage, whether good or bad. Whatever kind of background we come from, there is a desire and need to pass on a “Worthy Legacy” to our offspring. King David did that. Yes he sinned. Yes he injured his family because of it. But God recognized him as a man after His own heart. So much so that Jesus was born of the earthly lineage of King David. After that, most everything else was different. David couldn’t forgive sinners. Jesus did. David couldn’t heal blind eyes, deaf ears, or make the lame walk. Jesus did. David couldn’t mend broken relationships and even caused a few. Jesus was the mender of broken hearts and relationships. David rotted in his grave. Jesus isn’t in His grave. And there you have it … “The BIG Difference!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I am so thankful that You are the One who made “The BIG Difference” in my life. Amen
