Baptize My Heart

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 3:16 (NIV)
John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

O-bservation:

In this declaration by John the Baptist, we witness his humility and anticipation of the coming Messiah. John acknowledges the limitations of his baptism and points to the One who is greater. The promise of being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire signifies a transformation beyond mere ritual cleansing.

A-pplication:

As we begin this new day, let’s reflect on the profound truth that John shares. Jesus, the one more powerful, offers us a baptism that goes beyond external cleansing – it’s a baptism of the heart and spirit. How can we open ourselves to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives today? Let’s seek a deeper connection with Jesus, inviting His transformative power into every aspect of our being.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, help me relinquish control and allow Your Spirit to work in me as You Baptize My Heart. Amen.
