Always Leave Happy

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Acts 13:51, 52

So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

O-bservation:

Paul and Barnabus were on their first missionary journey when they arrived in Antioch. A great move of God’s Spirit came upon the people. This filled the Jewish leaders with jealousy and rage. Those leaders stirred up the God fearing women and leaders throughout the city and brought persecution to Paul and Barnabus. They were forced to leave. However, before they left they “shook the dust” off of their feet in obedience to JESUS’ command in Matthew 10:14,15. When they did that, they were immediately filled with JOY and the Holy Spirit.

A-pplication:

Before JESUS left the earth, He gave His disciples instructions on what to do if they were rejected for preaching the “Good News.” JESUS said, “When you are rejected, before you leave that person or city, shake the dust off of you’re feet.” JESUS was telling them to shake the bad experience out of their spirit. In other words, don’t ever carry a rejection in your spirit from one place to another place. Then Jesus said that if someone does reject you, it will be worse for them than the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment. Wow! But listen, isn’t it amazing that as soon as the disciples “shook the dust” off of their feet they were immediately filled with JOY and the Holy Spirit? Today, make sure you “shake the dust” of rejection out of your spirit so you can “Always Leave Happy.”

P-rayer:

I commit to You this AM that, with Your help, I will not take rejection with me. Instead I will “shake it off.” Amen
