A Daily … MUST PRAY … Prayer List

S. O. A. P.

Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!

S-cripture:

Nehemiah 1:11

Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.

O-bservation:

Nehemiah the Prophet was also the wine taster for King Artaxerxes of Persia. When Nehemiah was told that Jerusalem’s walls were falling, its gates had been burned to the ground, and the exiles living in it were in dire need, he knew he must do something. Before he talked to the King about the problem, he stopped and prayed. He asked God for divine favor when he was to go before “THIS MAN” (King Artaxerxes).

A-pplication:

I believe that every true “Follower of Jesus” should have a “Daily Must Pray Prayer List.” And the prayer that Nehemiah prayed should be a “Daily Must Pray Prayer” for all of us. In Nehemiah’s case, he was concerned about a one time meeting with the King of Persia. But the truth is, we should be praying every morning that we would receive “Divine Favor” for any man or woman Our King would have us meet with each day. “”My King” is “THE KING,” and whomever Jesus wants me to influence today, I must have His “Divine Favor” in that meeting. Before you leave this 90 second devotional thought, please put the following prayer on your … “Daily MUST PRAY Prayer List.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

As You know, I have had plans for this day since last night at least. But I invite You to interrupt, as You see fit, my pre-planned agenda in order that I may have at least ONE “Divine Encounter” today. Please bless me with Your favor as I meet the people I’ve already planned to see … Please I need You today. Amen

Although I have an active prayer life I find this devotion/prayer today most important. Last night I had to have a meeting with a colleague/friend whom was performing to her best and I found myself in prayer on how to confront the issues in a loving manner; the meeting went well and I was pleased. It didn’t cross my mind to practice that even when I am not expecting a challenge or opposition. What an awesome devotional today to be spiritually prepared before we face anyone each day. It also provokes me to think that perhaps some of the people we plan to encounter may be low in spirit that day and if we have already sought our father on their behalf we are shifting the atmosphere without even knowing.
