Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 24:1
Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.
O-bservation:
Abraham’s wife, Sarah, had died, and it was in Abraham’s heart to get a wife for his son Isaac. Here the Bible says that Abraham was very old and that God had blessed him in every way. He chose his number one associate to find his son Isaac a wife among the people he regarded as family. In time, Rachel was found to be the perfect wife for Isaac.
A-pplication:
You could begin a list of blessings that God presented to Abraham through the years, and it would go way past the normal length of this daily post. And yes, I’m sure you’re like me and have thought when you looked at others, “Man, they sure are blessed.” But really, when you start listing your own blessings, it’s a really long list. Since we tend to look at the negative things that happen in our lives, we sometimes fail to realize that the BLESSINGS far outweigh the downtimes. So when you think of Abraham’s blessings from the Lord, all I want to say is, “He’ll Do It For You Too!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so grateful to You this AM. It’s hard for me to relate to Abraham since he lived thousands of years ago. But I do know this: when I look at Abraham’s blessings, he’s got nothing on me. I’ll never be that great, but He served the same GREAT GOD that I serve today. I know that what you did for Abraham, you have also done for me! Amen
