Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 16:7
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
O-bservation:
Any world leader most likely struggles with the challenges of governing their constituency. Here, King David of Israel writes that he begins his day by praising his great God, who continually gives him counsel. At night, as he lays on his bed, the same Lord instructs him on what to do.
A-pplication:
It’s important that I tell you that even though I don’t rule a nation, and I am not really that significant, I still am challenged with worry. The continual needs of the flock the Lord has entrusted me with, and the load of my responsibilities, along with a desire to dispense my duties in an ethical and hopeful way day in and day out often cause me to arrive at my emotional limits. The way I’ve been helped is through daily praising my great Lord and Savior. Throughout the day, I find myself making good decisions, and people appear to be blessed. Most of all, if I’m lying in bed struggling with my thoughts, HE always instructs me, and then I fall asleep. So here’s what I’ve learned: like David, “Praise Him And Get A Good Night’s Sleep!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Since it’s morning, I’ll start early by praising Your name the whole day through. Of course, like always, I expect to get another great night’s sleep! Amen
