Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Numbers 16:41

The next day the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. “You have killed the Lord’s people,” they said.

O-bservation:

The day before God had judged Korah, Dathan, and Abiram for rebelling against Moses and Aaron. In addition, 250 other men who had stood with these three rebels also died at the hands of the Lord. The next day the people of Israel were still standing with the rebels and complaining that Moses had killed their friends. The Lord was so angry with their rebellion that another 14,700 perished that day.

A-pplication:

If I had been in the throng of onlookers the day before when the earth opened and saw the rebels fall into the earth with their families, I would have changed my mind to follow God no matter what! To think that a full day had passed and the Israelites blamed Moses and Aaron instead of those rebels, all I can think of to say is, “Are You Serious?” However, we see the same kind of things happen today with people who claim to love the Lord yet take stands against the Word of God because they feel a certain way. Almost weekly I hear such reports that cause me to SMH and say, “Are You Serious?” Here’s the good news. Because of Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection, His grace is able to save any rebel we know from the deepest, darkest place of sin. “Are You Serious?” Yes I Am!

Dear Jesus,

Once again, my Lord, all I can say is Thank You for loving me out of the gutter into Your eternal life and someday heaven! Amen
