Anything To Please My King!

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Numbers 29:36
You must present a burnt offering as a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. It will consist of one young bull, one ram, and seven one-year-old male lambs, all with no defects.
O-bservation:
This verse is part of the completion on God’s instructions for offerings given during the Season of Atonement in Israel. Of course, this season represented the Jewish new year. It included The Festival of Trumpets, The Day Of Atonement, and The Festival of Tabernacles all rolled into one season. With this new year celebration, the proper offering had to be brought to the Lord. It would be a burnt offering that produced an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
A-pplication:
These were requirements for the Jewish people that had to be fulfilled. These offerings were given throughout the year, not just The Season Of Atonement. The purpose was to bring an offering that would be pleasing to the Lord. Whenever I visualize this picture of giving the Lord our offerings, I’m reminded of old movies where the poor peasants bring the wealthy king some little gift that is huge in the peasant’s mind but insignificant in the life of the king. Does the king need it? No! What is significant in the old movie is that the king waves a gesture of pleasant gratitude, as if to say, “Your gift is pleasing to me.” That is exactly the picture, but much better than that, of our Lord being pleased by any of our feeble gifts. What is huge to us is nothing to Him. Except to say He is pleased with my offering. My response is one of joy as I say, “Anything To Please My King!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I will always seek to please you. I don’t HAVE to, I get to. I know You don’t need it, but You are pleased when I do it. So as always, “Anything To Please My King” is what I will do. Amen
