Jeremiah 50:34 — “Yet their Redeemer is strong; the LORD Almighty is His name.”
This prophecy by Jeremiah happens towards the end of Judah’s seventy years of captivity in Babylon.
They had been in terrible straits.
Yet here the prophet tells us that God Almighty, Judah’s Redeemer, is strong.
And indeed, the Lord did deliver them from Babylonian persecution.
The same Redeemer that delivered Judah from Babylon’s tyranny is with you today.
I know about today.
I know about financial struggle.
I know about family heartbreak and rebel children and broken marriages.
I know about people who oppose everything I stand for and are willing to test me at every turn.
I know about physical ailments that threaten my life.
Does any of this ring a bell in the midst of your current situation?
Well then, let me remind you of this one thing:
Your Redeemer is strong.
