The Devil Is Defeated

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

O-bservation:

The Apostle John saw such an unusual Revelation by way of a vision that the Lord said, “There is a special blessing for those who study this Revelation.” This passage is as difficult as any to promote clearly. In a very succinct way, what is being said is that eventually, at the end of the thousand-year rule and reign of Jesus, after Armageddon, the devil himself will be thrown into hell forever, never to escape.

A-pplication:

This is the passage that solidifies the original prophecy given in Genesis 3:15, that eventually the devil’s head would be crushed by the heel of Jesus. What was said thousands of years before the cross was accomplished at the cross of Jesus, yet this verse is the total end of the devil. This has yet to happen, but since just about everything else prophesied in the Bible has happened it’s just a matter of time before this ultimate ending occurs for Satan. Never, ever yield to the devil’s lie that somehow, someway, he will prevail in the end. That is a lie from the pit from which he promotes himself. He will never prevail. He is the father of lies and Jesus will soon crush satan under His feet (Rom. 16:20). Today, if you are alarmed in any way, my word to you is simply TRUST JESUS! “The Devil Is Defeated.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, As I head out of my home this AM, on this glorious last day of the year, I move forward knowing “The Devil Is Defeated.” I know that because You promised me, and You fulfilled Your promise on the cross. Amen

He’s Great Yesterday, Today, And Forever!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 15:3 They held harps given them by God and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.

O-bservation:

During the heavenly vision John the Beloved was shown by the Lord, he saw a large heavenly choir singing a piece from the Song Of Moses. They sang that our great God is not only GREAT, but that His ways are Just and True.

A-pplication:

John, the writer of the Revelation, was Jewish, which meant that by the time he was thirteen he had memorized the Jewish Torah. Most every young Jewish boy at that time in history knew the Song of Moses by heart. This vision took place some 2,000 years ago. Moses’ Song had been sung some 1,500 hundred years before that. But how far John was looking into the future we do not know. We know it’s been some 2,000 years since he first penned these words, but the truth is our God never changes. “He’s Great Yesterday, Today, And Forever!” Whatever you feel has dealt you a dirty blow in your life, please don’t blame God. Life has its ways of hitting all of us with dirty blows from time to time. After all, we do live in a fallen world. But our God’s ways are Just (FAIR) and True (DEPENDABLE). You can always count on Jesus. “He’s Great Yesterday, Today, And Forever!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Whatever is behind me, whatever I’m facing right now, and whatever I’ll face in the future, I know that Your ways are Just and True! You never change! Amen

Jesus Can Do Anything!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 5:5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

O-bservation:

While on the Isle of Patmos, John the Beloved has a vision of the future. Part of his vision had to do with the necessity of someone powerful enough to open the sacred book and break the seven seals. No one was found until one of the elders in John’s dream told him, “Don’t worry, Jesus can do it!”

A-pplication:

Here’s the truth, “Jesus Can Do Anything!” There’s so much supposition to this portion of the Bible. You could line ten different teachers of Biblical Prophecy on a stage and each one of them may have a different opinion on what the seven seals were in this passage. So this is not an interpretation of scripture, it’s a reflection on the fact that even in our most desperate of situations “Jesus Can Do Anything!” In his dream, John wept when he realized there was no one to open the sacred book (scroll), but when he heard that Jesus was present in the vision he knew everything would be fine. Whatever it is that may be causing you to weep today, please remember Jesus is with you. When you think there’s no hope, let me remind you that if Jesus is with you there’s ALWAYS Hope! Because “Jesus Can Do Anything!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I’m rejoicing this AM because as I read this vision of something that is to happen in the FUTURE, I remembered that You’re with me right now in the PRESENT. That gave me great peace because I know “YOU Can Do Anything!” Amen

Always Give YOUR Testimony

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 20:18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

O-bservation:

Of all the disciples who had walked with Jesus for 3 1/2 years, He chose to reveal Himself to Mary Magdalene first. As soon as she encountered Jesus following His resurrection, she immediately went to where the other disciples were and said, “I have seen the Lord!”

A-pplication:

If Mary Magdalene was like most women of Jewish decent at that time in history, she had little to no formal education. In fact, that was the lot of most women of any religion at that time in history. Why is this important? I have observed through the years that many “Jesus Followers” fail to promote the “Good News” because they feel like they lack information and are concerned that they would not be good defenders of the faith if pressed to do so. But the truth is, Jesus isn’t looking for any of us to defend the faith as much as He longs for all of us to just SHARE our faith. It didn’t matter if she was uneducated or not, she wanted her friends to know that she had seen the Lord! What she did was give them her testimony! The next time you’re with someone who needs faith, just “Give Them YOUR Testimony!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM, as I leave my home once again, help me to go forward with my light shining brightly. Thanks for MY testimony! Amen

The Advocate

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 16:7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

O-bservation:

Here Jesus, our Lord, introduces “The Advocate.” He of course was speaking of the precious Holy Spirit. He said, “If I go I will send Him to you.” We know that within days of Jesus ascending into heaven the Holy Spirit came down on the Believers in the upper room on the Day Of Pentecost. Surely Jesus kept His promise.

A-pplication:

When The Lord said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5-6), obviously it is through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit that this promise is fulfilled. Certainly our great God is omnipresent, and He is so by the personhood of “The Advocate.” Whenever you feel the presence of Jesus, that’s “The Advocate” you’re sensing. When you have questions in prayer and hear a still, small answer, that’s “The Advocate.” Whenever you’ve experienced heartbreak of any kind and suddenly there’s a comforting shoulder to lean on and you can’t detect who it is, I’m telling you that’s “The Advocate.” So you see, no Believer is happy that Jesus left, but if He hadn’t “The Advocate” would not have come. Thank God for “The Advocate.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I’m grateful Jesus that You sent “The Advocate.” Through my life I’ve experienced His power at least a thousand times. Thank You! Amen
