Make God’s Will Your Will

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 10:12 Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

O-bservation:

Our great God addressed Israel during Hosea the Prophet’s time. But now He is addressing you and me for our time. He says to us that if we will invest purity in all that we do, we will reap His never-ending love in return. Jesus also, however, reminds us that this pursuit Never Ends. There will always be "Hard Places" in our hearts that we must deal with on our knees, laying our lives at the altar of God's Grace. In time, He will pour purity in and over everything we do

A-pplication:

That is the will of God for your life and mine. Sow purity, seek the Lord for the places in our hearts that are not so pure, and in time His purity will begin to overshadow everything we do and everything we are. Once we do that, we CAN'T ever STOP doing that again. Our life on this side of heaven is never a life that we should take for granted. It's by the Grace of God that we live and move and have our very being. So while we live under the umbrella of God’s purity, we've got to wake up and do the same thing again tomorrow. Everyday just ... "Make God’s Will Your Will."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I am reminded that it's never over till I meet You one day in heaven. So I choose again this day to make Your will my will. Amen

I’ll Take You Back

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 2:19 I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.

O-bservation:

The Prophet Hosea had been instructed by God to marry the prostitute Gomer. Gomer was a type of Israel. God, like Hosea, would experience Israel's constant backslidings in favor of other gods. Hosea would experience the unfaithfulness of his wife, Gomer, with other men. It was an illustration for Israel and "Followers of Jesus" for all time. Even so, here we see the Lord telling Israel ... "‘I'll Take You Back!' I will restore your righteousness and make it work. I'll do this with love and sincerity."

A-pplication:

The days of fighting and waging war against the "Enemy of Our Souls" for our faith will never end, however the days of operating with anything less than Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness towards others are over! Whether it's a parent, a spouse, a son or daughter, or a close friend, our only option is GRACE. I have wronged others to my shame, but have always asked forgiveness through the years. Most all of them have forgiven me, but there were a few who cut me off forever. That hurt me but I believe it hurt them even more. When you forgive and receive people back into your fold who have wronged you, something in you gets healed. The best way is Jesus' way. He's always been the first to say ... "I'll Take You Back!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, There is deep gratitude in my heart this AM that You have never rejected me and have always forgiven me. Help me follow Your example to take others back. Amen

He Loves Us Too Much!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 11:8b "My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused."

O-bservation:

God’s anger had burned toward Israel for her many idolatries. But in the middle of all His proclamations, He stopped and said, "How can I do this, I love you too much to destroy you!"

A-pplication:

It's hard not to relate this passage to my relationship with my sons. If you're a parent, like me, I'm sure there were times you just wanted to _______ (fill in the blank) ... your kids! But in the end you loved them too much! In this context, Israel had for some long time rebelled against the Lord. It was almost as if they did whatever they could do to arouse the anger of the Lord. There was a time in many of our lives where the circumstance was similar. Regardless of what God’s Word said ... we went against it. I know in my own life He should have done away with me long ago. Maybe you feel the same way today. Here's what you need to know, "He Loves Us Too Much!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I'm reaffirming my love to You. But I know there's really no comparison. You love me way too much. For that I am thankful. Amen

You’ve Got To Be Kidding!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 1:2 When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.”

O-bservation:

Jehovah God had become so worn out with the continual idolatry of His beloved Israel that He told Hosea the Prophet to marry a promiscuous woman in order to illustrate God’s unending love for harlot Israel.

A-pplication:

Throughout the years, and the countless times I've read this passage, I always have the same immediate thought: "You've Got To Be Kidding!" God loved Israel so much that He wanted to get her attention. He asked one of His most trusted prophets to do the unthinkable, marry a promiscuous party girl. By not only putting up with her adultery, but loving her in spite of it, Hosea illustrated the unfathomable love and grace of our precious Lord. Certainly Hosea is the man he was purported to be, because when God asked him to do it he certainly didn't say "You've Got To Be Kidding."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM, once again I've been reminded that if You call me to do it, You'll get me through it! Amen

They Call My Prophet, The Fool

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 9:7b Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired person a maniac.

O-bservation:

Hosea was the prophet of God, who was God's living illustration of how much he wanted the children of Israel to return to her first love. To be honest, in chapter eleven of this same book, God walks away from his own anger and says, My heart has been changed towards you. My compassions have been aroused I can't destroy you. I will not carry out my fierce against you." But, right here, he is still angered and annoyed at the fact that the prophets he sends to Israel are treated with such contempt. He said, "They Call My Prophet, The Fool."

A-pplication:

For just a moment, I'm going to ask you to try and put yourself in God's shoes. He sent his anointed prophets to Israel to warn Israel that if she didn't change, she would be destroyed. And instead of respecting God's voice-box of God's warning of coming peril heading their way, they treated these oracles of God as if they were FOOLS! Imagine that! God is the ALL-KNOWING SOVEREIGN OF THE UNIVERSE, and he had to deal with these "peanut-brained" people known as Israel. These dummies had the audacity to call God's oracles "FOOLS!" But what about us? What about our elitist nation? Aren't those in print and televised media finding fault and taking every opportunity to find ways to cancel the choicest of God's men and women? We appear to be just like Israel, calling the prophets of God, "FOOLS!" I suppose, in the end, God will find a way to accept our nations back when they repent. In the meantime, we must respect the words from the prophet's mouth.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I know the heat is being turned up in your church worldwide and especially here in the west, where we've had it so easy during my lifetime. Help us to endure and not crumble under the pressure of it all. My will is always to do your will, my Lord. Amen
