Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 15:19
When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.
O-bservation:
This brings to an end the riveting story of the Israelites being chased out of Egypt by the Pharaoh and his Egyptian cavalry. The Israelites followed the Lord Most High’s directions and safely walked through the Red Sea’s divided waters. The Egyptian cavalry chased them through the same path, but God released His hold on the separated sea, and the Egyptians were covered and destroyed by those same waters!
A-pplication:
How many times through the years have I said in this daily post, “God Has Everything Under Control?” Here is, once again, a Bible story bearing that out. In one night, God got Israel out of their 400 years of bondage, and Moses led them to the edge of the Red Sea. At this uncrossable body of water, they became aware that the Egyptians had chased them to their place of impending doom. But God separated the sea, and they walked across on dry ground while the Egyptians met their doom in the same waters. We’ve become far more sophisticated and advanced in knowledge and industry, and technology since then, but the stakes remain the same. God’s people still face impending doom regularly. Moses and his people did the one thing God required in this case, which was Obedience. Because they obeyed, God brought them into their place of victory. Today, “You Just Have To Do One Thing. OBEY!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m amazed at the difficulty of humankind to just OBEY! I’m asking today that You would help me be obedient and yield at every turn to Your directives for my life. I know that’s where my safety and victory remains. Amen
