Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Acts 2:37

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

O-bservation:

This response came at the end of the powerful, first salvation message by one of Jesus’ disciples after Jesus had ascended back to the Father in heaven. It was Peter who had preached the message on the Day of Pentecost. His message was so anointed by the Holy Spirit that when he finished, people in the crowd asked, “Brothers, What Shall We Do?”

A-pplication:

Two wonderful things happened on the Day of Pentecost when Peter preached the first gospel message after Jesus ascended into Heaven. First, when Peter finished, he didn’t ask anyone to bow their heads and pray the sinner’s prayer. Instead, people in the audience of thousands began asking, “What do you want us to do now?” That’s when Peter said, “Repent and be baptized!” So the first great thing that happened that day was people asked Peter what they should do now? The second great thing that happened as a result of that first gospel message was the Church of Jesus Christ was born that day! I’ve thought about these events in this chapter of Acts, and “The Results Of A Holy Spirit Inspired Preacher” can literally change the world. I’m looking for the day when I finish preaching a message, and the crowd asks, “Rich, what should we do now?” Until that happens, I’ll keep asking the Lord to anoint the message I preach.

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for leading me to this famous story this AM. It reminded me of “The Results of A Holy Spirit Inspired Preacher.” Help me be that kind of preacher for the people I serve. Amen
