Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
O-bservation:
A teacher of the law, perhaps it was a Pharisee, came and asked Jesus which commandment is the greatest. Jesus replied that to “Love Jesus With Everything You’ve Got” is the greatest commandment.
A-pplication:
This is a difficult command to keep. I say that because each of us who “Follows Jesus” wants to “Love Jesus With Everything We’ve Got,” but most of the time there’s an obstacle to overcome. Let me name a few: Family, Job, Money, and Stuff. Those are just a few of the people and things that get in the way of “Loving Jesus With Everything You’ve Got.” However, I see the command from Jesus as a goal command. In other words, relationship precedes rules. The more I grow to Know the Lord, the more I want to Love the Lord! When I first married Robyn I certainly was passionate about her, but no way did I love her as much as I do today. Certainly the same can be said of our relationship with Jesus. The more I know Him, the more I want to “Love Jesus With Everything I’ve Got!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I sure do love You this AM, blessed Savior. In fact, my goal is still to “Love You With Everything I’ve Got!” Amen
