Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.
On one of the BUSIEST days in Jesus’ earthly life, he ended it by getting away to pray.
It wasn’t enough that Jesus had met earlier in the day to console his disciples, most likely on the death of his cousin John the Baptist. It wasn’t enough that they had to evacuate the scene to a quiet place as crowds were approaching. It wasn’t enough that they were followed there and they had to leave by boat. And, it wasn’t enough that when they landed by boat the masses had already arrived, so Jesus taught for most of the day and then ended up feeding 5,000 men, plus women and children. Finally, he made his disciples get back in the boat and sail to Bethsaida while He dismissed the people. That still wasn’t enough. No! It was only enough when He climbed a mountain to pray at the end of the day. You may be thinking this AM, “There’s no time in my day to pray.” However, after reading this chapter all I can say is … “You Have To!”
I’m not going to start this day without looking to You in prayer. Because in the situations I will be faced with today, “I Have To!” Amen
