WIN When Winded

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Jeremiah 29:5

Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.

After Judah had been captured and exiled into Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar, Jeremiah the Prophet sent the elders in exile a letter and told them to live like they had been living back at home.

Things were so bad for the people of God that the Psalmist writes a prophetic word about it, saying, “We hung our harps on the willows” (Ps. 137:2). In effect they were so lost that they couldn’t even sing. But in their worst hour, their Prophet Jeremiah wrote a letter and said, “Build houses and settle down, plant gardens and eat what you grow.” In other words, keep on living! Think about it, they were exhausted, broken, discouraged, and hopeless. Still … “Ya Gotta Eat,” the prophet was saying. In every world-wide tragedy, children are conceived and birthed. Houses are built or rebuilt, and the need for producing, finding, and making food goes on. It’s only over when a person lays down and dies. Until then, take your harp down, stand up, and sing. Maybe you’re truly WINDED today. Perhaps this devo is just for you, so you can “WIN When Winded!”

Dear Jesus,

I’m thinking back this AM to the many times I’ve wanted to give up because I was so WINDED! But You wouldn’t let me! Thank You! I’m still winning! Amen

Yes,life can be tough and one feels winded! I have come to know through these experiences that one must keep going on and not give up.Surprisingly enough, one latter finds these winded paths were stepping stones to our destination, never the Bus Stop!
