Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Malachi 2:7
For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth.
O-bservation:
In the day the prophet Malachi penned these words, the priest/rabbi was everything to the Jewish people. Most often, for the young people he was the educator and people looked to him for knowledge and instruction.
A-pplication:
The Lord was not happy in Malachi’s day concerning His priesthood. They had let down the standard of righteous teaching that God had entrusted them with. Consequently, the nation was in deep trouble. It has always been The Lord’s desire that His Preachers would be the moral compass for the nation. They’re the ones who point toward a “True North.” Someone once said, “Show me a nation that is languishing in moral depravity and I’ll show you a nation filled with weak preachers who give the people what they want instead of what they need.” We need strong men and women leading from pulpits who sound a righteous alarm in love today. When that is happening in a nation, there is hope for that nation. That’s “Why We Need Preachers Today.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Give our nation what they need instead of what they want! Amen

This truth is my hearts cry! Calvary Church’s founding Pastor, Robert Schmidgall, was a wonderful man of God whom I miss every day. I pray for our present Pastoral staff and their families by name and I’m truly concerned. A church is only as healthy as it’s prayer meetings and that’s sadly only a very tiny percent!! My heart breaks as I pour out my tears on our alter every week, praying that God will guide our Preacher’s and that they would not only hear but also have the strength and courage to obey His voice. Please pray with me for our congregation, that God would pour out His Spirit and move in truth to grow us into the kind of believers He created us to be!!!
Thank you forever, Lisa Wilson
