Why Evil?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

2 Chronicles 12:14

He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord.

Rehoboam was the son of Solomon, and could possibly have kept Israel together had it not been for his LACK of Wisdom. Most of all, he failed to seek the Lord.

When you see the arrogant decisions Rehoboam made at the beginning of his career, you wonder if he had ever met his father, Solomon, or had a meal with him. For his father to be the wisest man who ever lived, Rehoboam was a “Piece of Fruit” that fell way too far from the tree. If you compare the two, Solomon began his career talking with God while Rehoboam began his career talking with his friends. That was his downfall. His heart was not SET on seeking the Lord. Philosophers and sociologists from the beginning have asked the question, “Why Evil?” Here the scripture tells us that evil happened because a king failed to seek the Lord with his whole heart. That is true of kings and paupers. Today we have the opportunity to set our hearts on seeking the Lord. I hope you will join me.

Dear Jesus,

It is my desire this AM to once again set my heart on seeking You. Amen
