Whatever You Say Lord

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Aaron replied to Moses, “Today they sacrificed their sin offering and burnt offering to the Lord, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today? So when Moses heard this, he was satisfied.
The sons of Aaron had been killed earlier that day for offering strange fire before the altar. Their cousins carried their dead bodies outside of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his other two boys were commanded by Moses to keep it together, as in, do not show emotion, keep your hair tidy, and take your older brothers place. But then he scolded the boys for not eating the sin offering they had burned at the altar that day as they replaced their brothers. Aaron humbly said, they offered the sin offering, but these things have happened to me today. Would God have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering? Moses was satisfied with his brother’s answer.
This is one of the most heartbreaking stories in the Bible. There is no indication that Aaron’s sons were in anyway rebellious, but they made a fatal mistake while in the holy place by offering unauthorized fire on the altar. Immediately they were killed by God. Imagine Aaron, their father, and their younger brothers trying to keep it together. Moses commanded them to, but then later in the day scolded them for not eating the burnt offering they had sacrificed. Aaron spoke for his sons and said to his brother Moses, “I had a really bad day. Would God have been happy if I had eaten the sacrifice?” Moses did not have a comeback. On the worst at of his life Aaron did not break. Then his question to Moses was not sarcastic, but only this, “Whatever You Say Lord!” I want to say that to Jesus no matter what.
I’m saying out right here and right now, “Whatever You Say Lord, I’ll do it!” Amen
