Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Chronicles 12:1
After Rehoboam’s position as king was established and he had become strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the law of the Lord.
O-bservation:
After his father’s (Solomon’s) death, Rehoboam was made king over Israel. Right away he faced a real challenge, but afterward his throne was established. It was at that point he must have said to God … “We’ll Take It From Here.”
A-pplication:
Rehoboam made some imbecilic moves. He lost the “Ten Tribes of the North” and they never reunited with Levi and Judah again. Here’s the crazy thing. As soon as the crisis was over He totally turned his back on God, as did all of Israel. How many times have you seen a friend who was going through a crisis call on Jesus, but after they made it through their challenge they took the steering wheel away from the Lord again? The story of human history is a never-ending struggle between God’s WILL and our WILL. “We’ll Take It From Here” is about “Our Will Dominating The Will Of God!” Before you make that mistake, instead of saying “We’ll Take It From Here,” just say “Jesus, I can’t believe You got me through ANOTHER ONE.” And let Him keep driving.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Please take and keep the wheel of my life! Amen
