UNFAITHFULNESS

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Chronicles 10:13

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance.

O-bservation:

One of the saddest statements in the Old Testament is this infamous eulogy concerning King Saul. He died because he was UNFAITHFUL to The Almighty.

A-pplication:

UNFAITHFUL is something all of us have been at one time or another, to some degree or another. None of us are perfect, but most of us are saddened when we fail in our FAITHFULNESS to a commitment we’ve made. Whether it’s to a spouse, or child, or friend, or boss, or much more so The Lord, UNFAITHFULNESS is regrettable. However, God forgives all of us for UNFAITHFULNESS. So why didn’t He forgive Saul? God didn’t forgive Saul because Saul was UNFAITHFUL from the start. He never stopped being UNFAITHFUL to the Lord, and when he consulted a witch to predict his future, he went to hell. It’s as if Saul never had a conscience after a certain time. When that happened, no one will ever know, but Saul undoubtedly committed the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, all of us have access to God’s grace today. Don’t fret over past UNFAITHFULNESS. Simply put your trust wholeheartedly in God’s forgiveness and press on!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You know my past failures so well that I’m thankful for Your FORGIVENESS. It was a long time ago that I gave up my UNFAITHFULNESS! I praise You for Your GRACE. Amen
