Time For A Spiritual EKG

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

1 Corinthians 11:28

Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.

Toward the end of his directive regarding the taking of the Lord’s Supper, St. Paul tells the Church at Corinth it’s “Time For A Spiritual EKG.”

Make no mistake about it. The Apostle wasn’t writing only to the newly formed group of Jesus people in Corinth, he’s also writing for the entirety of the Body of Christ today. The challenge is that all of us must do everything possible to keep the “WHY” in front of us at all times. Jesus told us that we were to do this Christian Sacrament known as “Holy Communion” to REMEMBER HIM. When the WHY is in place now, it’s imperative that it’s done in a holy fashion. As the Apostle states here, “Everyone ought to examine themselves before partaking.” In other words, make sure you’re spiritually clean before the Lord. Surely even before your next communion you would agree that it’s … “Time For A Spiritual EKG!”

Dear Jesus,

I am convicted this AM because I just want to celebrate YOU. But for that to happen, there’s a couple of things I want to clear up with You. Amen
