Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Amos 3:3
Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?
O-bservation:
Now into the third chapter of the book of Amos, the Prophet has already brought accusation after accusation against Israel. In this verse, God says to His chosen people, “I thought we had an agreement, but you have broken it. Don’t you know that before two people can start a journey of any kind … “There Must First Be Agreement!”
A-pplication:
Simply stated, the power of AGREEMENT is exponential in impact. Remember scripture says, “could one man chase a thousand, or two (together) put ten thousand to flight” (Deuteronomy 32:30). In this case, Israel had reneged on their end of the partnership. They had not yielded to God’s commands. When it comes to partnering with God, it’s always a majority partnership. Jesus by Himself equals everything, so you can imagine what Jesus plus you or I can accomplish! But … “There Must First Be Agreement!” In other words, the partnership is based on what you or I want, and what Jesus demands. Our “Wants” will always fall subject to His “Demands.” If they don’t, the partnership will fail. Jesus doesn’t fail, the partnership fails based on our willingness to yield to His “Demands.” If you really want to win … “There Must First Be Agreement!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I have so many WANTS! Help me yield to Your DEMANDS so our partnership is exponential in its impact. Amen
