Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
2 Chronicles 3:1
Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.
O-bservation:
This is the amazing story of how King Solomon built the Temple of the Lord on the very spot that his father, King David, repented for one of his greatest failures.
A-pplication:
King David had sinned by numbering the people of Israel. Because of it, God sent a plague and 70,000 of his countrymen died. When he looked for a piece of property to build an altar to repent upon, Araunah the owner said, “You don’t have to pay me anything.” David said, “I won’t sacrifice to the Lord upon that which costs me nothing.” This was what David thought to be the end of the terrible sin he had committed. Families in Israel had been devastated by his sin. AND the King was mortified and shamed. However, in God’s economy a man or woman who repents of wrongdoing opens the door for the worst that has happened to become the best that can happen! Years after David passed away, his son, King Solomon, built the “Temple of the Lord” on the same land where his father sacrificed his greatest offering of repentance. Perhaps you have felt that your failures have caused you sacrifices you could hardly pay. But remember, through your repentance can come … “The Reward Of Your Sacrifice.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m thankful that You turn our failures into huge WINS … In Time. Amen
