The REP Isn’t Always Correct

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 3:1b

I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

O-bservation:

Sardis is one of the seven churches of Asia Minor that Jesus spoke to through the pen of the Apostle John. The Lord said of the church at Sardis, you have a REPUTATION for being alive, but you are dead.

A-pplication:

It appears the Sardis Church had everybody but God fooled. Isn’t that so much like some folks in general? For instance, a person thinks they have everyone fooled while they masquerade as someone they’re really not, but God isn’t fooled. What’s the issue? The issue is, sometimes … “The REP Isn’t Correct!” The Lord gave a public warning to the Church at Sardis that people have been reading for over 2,000 years. There’s no reason for any of us not to heed the warning today. My goal is to match my private world to a reputation that is trustworthy.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You again this AM to help me match my public reputation to my private world. I’ve lived too long with Your grace and mercy watching over me to do something dumb. I want You more than anything! Amen
