S-cripture:

2 Kings 23:25

Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.

O-bservation:

King Josiah was only eight years old when he began his rule of Judah. Eighteen years into his reign, one of his associates discovered the Law of Moses in the temple. When Josiah heard it read, he wept and humbled himself before God COMPLETELY!

A-pplication:

It’s estimated that the Law of Moses had been ignored for over 75 years when Josiah’s associate discovered it in the temple. That’s more than a generation of people who had no knowledge of “The Power Of The BOOK.” Josiah’s father and grandfather were both wicked men. His son who followed him was wicked. How then did Josiah change, even if for a short period of time? The BOOK! The BOOK, which had been ignored and forgotten, was all he had of what has become part of our Bible today. When he read it, the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit rocked him to his core. Everything changed after that. The entire nation changed because one man read The BOOK! I hear the line all the time … “We need change!” My response is, “We Need The BOOK!” As long as The BOOK sits on the shelf its power is concealed. But once it is opened by a willing and yielded heart, the world becomes an audience that witnesses “The Power Of The BOOK.”

Dear Jesus,

As I open Your BOOK this AM, I am yielded to Your command. Use me for Change! Amen
