Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
O-bservation:
As the story of Zacchaeus closes out, Jesus, who has been scrutinized by religious people for going to the house of a known “Sinner,” presents “The Mission Of God.” This is His mission for all of us for all time. He said, “I came to find people who are lost and save them.”
A-pplication:
If a person has been separated from God through sin, it has always been God’s mission to bring them back home. Finding lost and broken people and restoring them to spiritual, physical, and mental health, and blessing His people has always been the “Mission of God.” You can read from Genesis to the end of the New Testament and that is the Lord’s driving mission. I’m always amazed when I hear Christians tell me they’re not being fed in their local church, when they have seldom, if ever, brought another person to the Lord! We the people of the Lord are most fulfilled when we are on “His Mission” and not our own personal “Side Street.” When we love what God loves, we’ll love serving Him in a prison or a palace.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Today I pray that You would always keep YOUR mission in front of me so I never get sidetracked into something I want. Amen
