Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
2 Samuel 22:33
It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
This entire chapter is given as a song of praise by King David after the Lord had brought him many victories. Here he said, “The Lord Keeps Me Strong And Secure.” There were so many times that David felt as if the whole world had turned its back on him. Over and over, he would ask God why he had left him. Or he asked God how long would it be until the Lord would come and rescue him. It’s nice to know that in time David acknowledged that indeed, “The Lord Keeps Me Strong And Secure.”
Have you ever wondered if Jesus has left you? Has your challenge become so difficult that you have actually asked the Lord why he has left you? Certainly, the Lord has never left any of us. His word declares that he is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. But, if you’re like King David, or even like someone as insignificant as me, sometimes the waiting for the victory is worse than the actual battle itself. Make no mistake! Your dream will come to pass, but it may take some time. Don’t let the time scare you or even the people you’re surrounded by because the word says, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deut. 31:8) That’s why I know, “The Lord Keeps Me Strong And Secure!”
I’ve lived long enough to be able to say with King David, “The Lord Keeps Me Strong And Safe.” Today I’m concerned for my friend who is reading this post. Let them know that you are with them too! Amen
