Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Jesus asked one of the most poignant, if not the most important, question He ever asked while here on earth. I say that because it’s a question that demands a response. You can’t hear the King of all creation ask this question and walk away. Look at it again, maybe with a different personal slant. Here’s the question from my view. Let’s say you are the richest person in the world, but you don’t have eternal life in Christ. So what good is it if you have all that and die and go to an eternity without Christ? My answer would be, it would be considered “The Greatest Loss Of All Time!
You have to consider the powerful train of thought presented by Jesus. Let’s say you were to develop a network of wealth that knew no limits. Let’s say that you controlled the fossil fuel of the world. Let’s say you controlled all of the telecoms in the world. Let’s say you controlled the satellites because you owned them all. Let’s say you owned all of the technological networking coming out of Silicon Valley. Let’s say that to top it all off, you also controlled them because you owned all of the wineries in Napa Valley. Let’s say that your personal jet fleet, as well as mansions around the world staffed by the finest staff money could hire, were also yours. Finally … let’s say that there wasn’t anything on this earth that you could not buy if you wanted to. BUT you lacked just one thing. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is your only assurance of eternal life when this life is over. Once again, that would be “The Greatest Loss Of All Time.”
As I take stock of my own stock on this new morning, it really isn’t very much at all. In fact, it’s laughable. But it doesn’t really matter to me because my relationship with you is secured. I have no other call but to be a blessing to others. Thank You for this wonderful opportunity, my Lord. Amen
