The Crucifixion of Jesus

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

Mark 15:33-34 (NIV)
At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’ (which means ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’).

Mark describes the darkness that covered the land during the crucifixion of Jesus, signifying the solemnity and gravity of the moment. Jesus, in His agony, cries out to God, expressing the depth of His suffering and anguish on the cross.

I am challenges to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus and the depth of His love for humanity. It prompts me to contemplate the profound significance of His death on the cross, where He bore the weight of our sins and experienced separation from God on my behalf. As I meditate on the crucifixion, may it deepen my gratitude for God’s mercy and grace extended to me through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Dear Jesus,
May I always respond with a heart full of gratitude and reverence, surrendering myself to Your will. Amen
