Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
O-bservation:
King David made a foundational statement that lasted throughout his career. God alone is the one we are to run to, and God alone is the giver of strength in our times of weakness. Whenever we’re in trouble, He is our “Right Now Helper.”
A-pplication:
It seems like trouble is always near me. I’m not sure if you can relate to that, but that is my reality. My daily challenge is, who will I turn to? As you know, there are a continual slate of “Refuge Providers” offered on commercial TV, billboards, magazines, and radio ads. Often they have to do with pills, loans, insurance, retirement, doctors, lawyers, etc. Have I left anything out? Oh yes, “The Lord!” Many of these nationwide “Refuge Providers” are looked at with complete confidence by we the consumers. At the same time, “The Lord” isn’t even in the discussion. The most powerful king to ever lead said God was his refuge and everything he needed in his most challenging times. Stop looking for some new “Refuge Provider.” Jesus has over six thousand years of “Refuge Providing” in His resume. He really is … “The Best Refuge Provider.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I thank You this AM that You are my Right Now Refuge Provider in my time of TROUBLE! You are the One I turn to. Amen
