S. O. A. P.
Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 122:1
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
O-bservation:
King David was a “Warrior King” and a “Growth Management King.” He set the bar for his son Solomon, who took organizational leadership to another universe of expertise. So David was always busy. But whenever people asked him to go to church, his first response was … “I Rejoiced!”
A-pplication:
Why is it true that in the Western world the idea of going to church appears to be the last thing on the “To Do List” for the masses? Obviously most people don’t know God, or they consider Him to be irrelevant in their life. If you’re questioning the need for going to God’s house, here are 3 reasons why you should.
#1- Going to church reminds you who is in charge. Worship takes your mind off of yourself.
#2- Going to church put’s you with people who believe in God. If you’re like most folks, you probably don’t work with people every day who believe like you do.
#3- Going to church is like taking a break. Church is a break from the routine. It’s a break from the snow or the beach. It’s a break from work or play. It’s a break from your spouse or your singleness. It’s a break from TV. So … go to church!! You owe it to yourself … “Take A Break.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for Your church. It’s the one place I know where I can … “Take A Break!” Amen
