Make God’s Will Your Will

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Hosea 10:12 Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

O-bservation:

Our great God addressed Israel during Hosea the Prophet’s time. But now He is addressing you and me for our time. He says to us that if we will invest purity in all that we do, we will reap His never-ending love in return. Jesus also, however, reminds us that this pursuit Never Ends. There will always be "Hard Places" in our hearts that we must deal with on our knees, laying our lives at the altar of God's Grace. In time, He will pour purity in and over everything we do

A-pplication:

That is the will of God for your life and mine. Sow purity, seek the Lord for the places in our hearts that are not so pure, and in time His purity will begin to overshadow everything we do and everything we are. Once we do that, we CAN'T ever STOP doing that again. Our life on this side of heaven is never a life that we should take for granted. It's by the Grace of God that we live and move and have our very being. So while we live under the umbrella of God’s purity, we've got to wake up and do the same thing again tomorrow. Everyday just ... "Make God’s Will Your Will."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I am reminded that it's never over till I meet You one day in heaven. So I choose again this day to make Your will my will. Amen

God First

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 132:3-5 "I will not enter my house or go to my bed, I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

O-bservation:

From very early on in King David's rule, he had a burning desire to build a temple for God Almighty. There came a point in his life when he said, "I just won't rest until it's done." His was a continual pursuit of "God First."

A-pplication:

What drives you? What gets you out of bed in the AM? What is your passion, your pursuit, and your mission? I continually check those questions in my own life. When I read these statements about David’s passion I'm moved to prayer to say, "Oh Lord forgive me." This is not a guilt trip devo this AM, but it is a push to get you and me on course. The truth is if our mission is "God First," then every desire we've ever had will fall into its proper place. It was Jesus who said, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well!" (Matt. 6:33). That's it! "God First."

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, This AM I reaffirm Your place in my life. For me it will always be … "God First." Amen

It’s Time To Seek The Lord

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

O-bservation:

Once again, the Lord spoke through Jeremiah concerning a time that was in the future. The fact remained that Judah had rebelled greatly against their Lord Almighty, and God foretold that soon they would be taken out of Jerusalem to Babylon as slaves by King Nebuchadnezzar. Once there God said, “If you will seek Me you will find Me, when you seek Me with all of your heart.”

A-pplication:

I remember growing up in the sixties and experiencing the following: young Americans fighting foreign wars that few were encouraged over. I remember a media war against whoever was in charge, including four presidents during that decade alone. I remember race riots and gangs and drugs and drug overdoses by young and old alike. I also remember in the middle of all the stuff a Holy Spirit, heaven sent, full-on revival among the youth of America known as the “Jesus Movement.” From coast to coast and north to south, young people began all night prayer meetings while seeking the Lord, believing that He alone could calm the storm. Indeed, in time things changed because of that revival. It became known as the Charismatic Movement that saw churches planted and church growth like never before. Now, after years have passed in my life experience, it feels like we’re back to the same old same old. Here’s the remedy. Just like happened during my teen and young adult years, God’s Word remains: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart!” My feeling this AM is simple. “It’s Time To Seek The Lord.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, I’m not running so I’m not desperate for myself. I’m desperate for You to come down and cause a yearning in the hearts of young men and women that is wrought in prayer and desperation. To that end I will seek You! Amen

That’s Our Job

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Zephaniah 2:3a Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands.

O-bservation:

Zephaniah, the Prophet from Judah, wrote this during the reign of Josiah, the King of Judah. Josiah was the last righteous King to rule Judah before their fall. Zephaniah knew what was coming and he told the remnant followers of Jehovah, "Just seek the Lord."

A-pplication:

The Prophet Zephaniah was writing to a small, select group of people who lived in Judah. He said, "Those of you who are HUMBLE and those of you who keep the Lord’s COMMANDS, are to Seek The Lord." I say a small, select group because you could actually identify the handful of people in Judah who lived that way. I'm not sure it's that bad in our country at this point, but we certainly aren't lining up with the Word of God. What is it that we, who are quickly diminishing to the number referred to as a remnant, supposed to do? Are we to vehemently argue politics? Are we to fight for social justice to the point that we dislike our brothers who don't? Should we march? Should we strike? Should we throw stuff? All of these actions have been employed in times past, but it's not getting better. Zephaniah said if you're humble and if you follow the Lord’s commands, you are to "SEEK THE LORD." That's it. "That's Our Job!"

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus, Once again this AM, I'm seeking You my God.  I have some other jobs, but that's my Main Job. Amen
