Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Ezekiel 31:2
Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes: “‘Who can be compared with you in majesty.
O-bservation:
God Almighty speaks through the Prophet Ezekiel to Pharaoh, the King of Egypt, and asks him, “Who can be compared to you?” He was setting Pharaoh up to let him know that He would bring Pharaoh down just like He had brought the Assyrians down. It happened at the hands of the Babylonians.
A-pplication:
Certainly, in that day and time Nebuchadnezzar was extremely proud when he destroyed the Assyrians and then the Egyptians a short time later. He surely believed that it was by the power of his own might that this had been accomplished; however, the prophet had let it be known this was forthcoming. It is a great example of how humans always have a way of giving themselves the credit for wins, no matter how big or small they may be. This is probably a marvelous lesson of how God is behind everything that happens. He’s not the puppeteer, I don’t want in any way to make that inference, but our God not only raises people up, He also takes people down. Remember “Babylon Thought They Won.” The truth is, God made it all happen.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM I’m thrilled to give You ALL of the praise, ALL of the glory, and ALL of my worship. You alone are worthy. Amen
