Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 126:5
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.
O-bservation:
The Psalmist spoke from personal experience anointed by the Holy Spirit. Through the years, he had learned that whenever he experienced brokenness of any kind, if he gave it to the Lord he would reap with exceeding joy. Here he says “Start With Tears, End With Joy.”
A-pplication:
Sowing has to do with planting. When you plant a seed you expect a harvest. Some people waste their sorrows. They make it all about them. It’s as if they say, “I’ve been hurt and I’m all that matters.” But sowing tears has a purpose to it. Prayer is involved. When I sow with tears I’m praying those tears into God’s soil. Those tears become seeds that are crushed and in time germinate and produce a harvest. The harvest according to scripture is the opposite of what was sown. The crushed seeds of SORROW produce a glorious harvest of Joyful Songs! So with God’s help, turn your sorrow into seeds. “Start With Tears, End With Joy!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With Your help this AM, I’m going to quit making my sorrow about me. Instead I’ll turn my tears into seeds that, in Your time, will produce JOY! Amen
