Show Stopper

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Chronicles 7:2

The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it.

O-bservation:

Just before the brand new Temple of the Lord—located on Mt. Moriah in the heart of Jerusalem—was opened to the people, King Solomon offered a prayer of dedication. Following his prayer, the priests could not enter the temple because the glory of the Lord filled it.

A-pplication:

The permanent temple in Jerusalem was a LONG TIME IN COMING. When it was finally completed, everyone offered praise and worship unto the Lord at once. The spirit of unity was at an all time high and God was pleased. In that moment, God “Stopped The Show” of human extravagance on His behalf by overwhelming the temple with His glory. His presence carried such weight that the priests could not enter the temple. For many “Believers” today, there is a seldom discussed longing on the inside that simply yearns for a similar heavenly demonstration. Isaiah prayed, “Oh that You Oh Lord, would rend the heavens and come down!” (Isa. 64:1) All of us are thankful for great men and women of God who minister in the office of their giftings, but what many are really in search of is a … “Show Stopper!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m desperate for Your glory. I’m desperate for the weight of Your presence in my life and surroundings. I’m asking You to “Stop The Show.” Amen
