Seek The Praise Of God

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Romans 2:29

No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

O-bservation:

St. Paul creates a powerful analogy between being Jewish and being a “Follower of Christ.” He said Jewishness cannot be contrived. It comes from within. The same is true of the man or woman who has come to “Faith In Christ.” They don’t have to try to be a Christian by some human means such as circumcision. It comes from the heart and seeks the praise of God rather than man’s applause.

A-pplication:

We’ve talked a lot in this AM Devo about the audience you and I play to everyday. Some people believe they’re living to please other people. However, every “Jesus Follower” is only playing to an audience of ONE. His name is Jesus. Is He pleased? Is He applauding our lives, lived for His glory? We can’t really fake it. We’re either real or we’re not. Oh it’s true, we can live for each other, but the applause and accolades we receive are only given in hopes that in time we’ll be outdone by the very ones who are presently applauding our efforts. It’s time to quit the mayhem. Here’s a thought … “Seek The Praise Of God!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Oh how I long to please You, my Lord. I can’t make that up. You know my heart. Once again this AM, I’ll seek Your praise! Amen
