Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 130:6
I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
O-bservation:
David referenced “Watchmen” in this passage to illustrate the intensity with which he waited for the Lord in every situation. He was so intent on the analogy he said it twice!
A-pplication:
Watchmen in Israel stood on top of the walls surrounding Jerusalem, guarding the people at night while they slept. They were first responders to any potential threat. They were definitely alone and isolated in the dark. Any terrorist or enemy coming at night would have to first go through them. But make no mistake about it, the greatest fear was on the Watchman. They were susceptible in the dark to an arrow through the heart. Like no other guard in Israel, the Watchmen waited with intensity, against all odds, for the morning. They would not come off the wall till the dawning of the sun. When you’re up against your greatest threat, say it: “I Will Wait On The Lord!” In fact, in order to encourage yourself, just “Say It Again If You Have To!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m really up against some major threats this AM, so let me just say this: “I Will Wait On The Lord, I will Wait On The Lord! Amen
