Renter’s Remorse

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Luke 16:12

And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

O-bservation:

Jesus had been giving a discourse on how business works. There is a worldly way of doing business that all believers must not only know about, but seek wisdom as to how to maneuver through its obstacles. Then He made this statement about how to handle other people’s property.

A-pplication:

As I read this passage this AM, I could only think of the term “Renters Remorse.” Perhaps you know someone in times past that owned nothing of their own and yet trashed the place they were “Renting” in order to live. How we handle other people’s property is a test as to how we will someday handle our own property. The law of the harvest is in effect here. In many ways, “Renters” are literally making a down payment on what their future will look like. Twice in our early marriage my wife and I rented an apartment. When our lease was up we received back our deposit with thanks from the owner because we had taken care of their property. Since that time we have owned our own homes. We didn’t know at the time the Lord was testing us as to whether or not we were worthy of ownership. Make sure you pass the test. None of us want to finish with “Renters Remorse.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM I’m reminded that my life must operate with the “Golden Rule” as my priority. Amen
