Here’s your 90 second AM devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 16:6
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
O-bservation:
Out of the many troubles and dangerous events that David continuously faces in the book of Psalms, right here he pauses to praise the Lord. David says, “My boundary lines have fallen, or been set in pleasant places, and my future is even brighter.”
A-pplication:
As a younger man, I would often sing that song by the late, great Andrae Crouch, “Lord You’ve really been good to me and I really want to thank You!” Each one of us has the ability to see the glass half-full or half-empty. It’s our decision. There’s always the threat that the “enemy of our soul” will overwhelm our mind with all “The Stuff,” so that we forget how absolutely fabulous our Jesus is. And we’re not as boxed in as we think we are. The Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” (Ps. 24:1). Since I’m a child of the King, I’m an heir to all of that. It’s as if our Lord has given us limitless opportunities. So how do you want to look at it? The truth is, any limitations you and I face right now are only temporary. Because we are surrounded by “Pleasant Boundaries.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You this AM that You have given me a great life, and even a brighter future. Amen
